Hello, my name is Arturo and I'm really happy that you are visiting Mexico. It's a great country, the people here are very friendly, there's always something new to see and the food is delicious.
Some of the best places to visit are the Teotihuacan pyramids, the Chapultepec zoo and lake, the downtown, the Templo Mayor, the Anthropology Museum, the Basilica of Guadalupe, just to mention a few.
If you want to eat some traditional food, try the pozole, the mole poblano (especially the enchiladas or just with chicken). Of course you have to eat tacos, sopes and gorditas. If you drink alcohol, try the tequila or the mezcal, but don't drink too much. I hope that you don't get sick because of the food, but make sure to bring some antacid, because that kind of food is really spicy and may cause you indigestion. Just remember to be aware of the Montezuma's revenge
I don't really know what Canada is like but I'm sure it's a wonderful country that I hope to see someday.
Well my friend, I hope that you can write me back. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck and a pleasant stay in Mexico. Take care and be happy
Sincerely, Arturo
P.S. Montezuma's revenge is a well known myth that we have in Mexico. They say that every foreign person gets sick when he/she eats our food, because Montezuma (an Aztec emperor) was defeated by foreigners from Spain, so he cast a curse. This so called curse is just the result of a very spicy food, especially the chiles (hot peppers) and the abuse of them, so you don't have anything to worry.
